Bad news, Canadian Hynies… Shifting Gears, set to air on March 23 on Hallmark, won’t be available on the WNetwork. It’s normal to see that some movies don’t make it to Canada, but a movie with Tyler Hynes? That’s almost a crime! Let’s take a look at what will be playing instead and how you could watch Shifting Gears in Canada.
Watch Shifting Gears in Canada
The news took viewers by surprise, as seen in the Hallmark Facebook group “Hallmark Fans’ Movies & Christmas Movies Discussion.”
Comfy Cozy reviewer Caroline Kaiser shared: “Canadians: judging by the promos, it looks like the W Network isn’t going to be showing Shifting Gears on March 23rd, but A Taste of Love instead? I’m stunned. Apparently they’re showing all the rest of the new spring movies, but not this one. It doesn’t make sense, given how popular Tyler Hynes is.”
And we couldn’t agree more. Tyler Hynes is a Hallmark favorite. However, this is not the first time that Hallmark doesn’t share its movies with our Canadian friends. Users were quick to report their annoyance with this situation. “I am so sick of W channel! We only see approximately 70% of Hallmark movies…” user Donna Jerome Foster commented. “They show same ones over and over and all the old reruns of Mom, Will & Grace, etc…😡”
Another user replied that the UK had a similar, if not worse, situation. “your doing better than us in the UK, they only show a few new movies on movies 24, most are 2 or 3 years old, and they repeat them constantly.”
This is true for the WNetwork, as well as Hallmark’s regular schedule. Check out this petition that serves as a solution for this exact problem.
Instead of Shifting Gears, the WNetwork appears to air A Taste of Love during this time slot, which will only air on April 6 on Hallmark. The movie will star Erin Cahill and Jesse Kove.
The only possible solution at the moment is to watch Shifting Gears on the Hallmark Channel using a VPN and tuning into the Hallmark TV Live app.
What is Shifting Gears about?
Upon reluctantly agreeing to participate in a car restoration show, Jess (Katherine Barrell), a skilled female mechanic, finds herself taken aback when she discovers that her former flame, Luke (Tyler Hynes), is not just involved but positioned as her primary rival in the competition. The revelation of Luke’s presence as her main competitor adds an unexpected twist to Jess’s journey, stirring up a mix of emotions ranging from surprise to apprehension as she navigates through the challenges of the show. Despite her initial reluctance, Jess must now confront not only the demands of the competition but also the complex dynamics of her past relationship with Luke, making each restoration task more than just a test of mechanical prowess but also a journey of personal growth and self-discovery.
Tyler took to Instagram to simply write ” 🛠️ soon 🛠️ ” and post a few pictures of his new movie. Hopefully, we will see more of him on the WNetwork soon!
